Wellness Education
WPI offers a number of wellness education and training opportunities to help our community invest in well-being for themselves and for those around them.
Workshops, Trainings, & Presentations
The CWB offers workshops, trainings, and presentations on a variety of health and wellness topics from alcohol and substance use awareness to sexual health education to suicide prevention and more. We occasionally host open workshops and trainings for the WPI community, and all of our workshops, trainings, and presentations are available by request and tailored to fit the needs of your group.
If you'd like to request a presentation or training but aren't sure what exactly you're looking for, send us an email to cwb@wpi.edu and we're happy to have a conversation to help you figure it out! We can also work with you to provide a presentation, workshop, or training not listed below.

About the CWB
A brief overview of who we are and what we do at the CWB. This presentation can be tailored to cover ways we can specifically support with your group/department.

Optional additions:
- Q&A with the presenter for your group to ask any questions they have related to alcohol and substances
- Standard Drink Challenge where volunteers from the audience can test their skills at pouring a standard drink of alcohol in a red solo cup
- Free Naloxone (Narcan) distribution and training
Building Success Without Burning Out
This workshop helps students explore strategies for achieving academic and personal goals while maintaining a healthy relationship with stress. Through discussion and hands-on activities, participants will learn how to set realistic expectations, manage time effectively, recognize the signs of burnout, and build healthy habits for balance and self-care.
Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR) – Suicide Prevention Training
QPR is a 90-minute suicide prevention training. This training teaches participants how to recognize the warning signs of suicide and how to question, persuade, and refer someone to help. QPR is not meant to train someone to be an emergency medical responder but rather how to recognize the signs of a suicide crisis and support the person until they can connect with mental health professionals. While similar to RRSD, QPR focuses specifically on suicide prevention.
Recognizing and Responding to Students in Distress (RRSD)
This interactive, 90-minute mental health and awareness workshop offered in collaboration with the SDCC provides data on student mental health, reviews the most prevalent student mental health issues and engages participants in practical conversation about how to support students in the moment as well as how and when to refer students to campus resources. While similar to QPR, RRSD focuses more generally on supporting students’ overall mental health.
Sexual & Reproductive Health
In partnership with Student Health Services, this workshop is an informal Q&A and interactive presentation with experts to talk through and answer any questions your group has relating to safe sex, sexual health, reproductive health, consent, and resources.
Stress Management
This workshop touches on the different types of stress, walks participants through the 4A’s of stress management and how they can implement them in their own life, and various other self-care tips and tricks.
