50 Prescott Street (Gateway Park II)
The second building in the Gateway Park complex, Gateway II, officially opened in 2013.
Since the opening, the 92,000-square-foot building has been occupied by both WPI and external organizations.
Currently, the bottom two floors are home to WPI's Business School, the Fire Protection Engineering Department, and the Biomanufacturing Education and Training Center. The top two floors are occupied by PracticePoint at WPI and LEAP@WPI/QCC, along with several WPI faculty offices and lab spaces.
- The Biomanufacturing Education and Training Center is a 10,000-square-foot, fully functional bench- to pilot-scale biomanufacturing plant where professionals can explore new processes, train on state-of-the-art equipment, and hone their skills with hands-on practice.
- PracticePoint is a membership-based research, development, and commercialization alliance founded to advance healthcare technologies. The focus is on smart and secure medical devices that interact with the physical world to improve the promise of patient-centric care.
- The Lab for Education & Application Prototypes (LEAP) supports the development of the integrated photonics industry across the Northeast. A collaboration between WPI and Quinsigamond Community College, LEAP also provides training and education to help build a skilled integrated photonics workforce in Central Massachusetts.
