WHAT

Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) will hold its 5th annual Relay for Life, the American Cancer Society's signature fundraising event. Relay for Life is a volunteer-driven event to spread cancer awareness, remember loved ones lost, and celebrate the lives of survivors, while raising money for cancer research.

WPI has teams made up of students, faculty, and staff. To raise money, the teams will walk or run around the Quad for a 16-hour period. Since the university's first relay in 2007, WPI community members have raised approximately $300,000 for the American Cancer Society. The goal for this year's event is to break the $100,000 mark.
