Through their purpose-driven research and innovative solutions, WPI faculty and students have captured the attention of major national media outlets over the past year, including the New York Times, USA Today, TIME, the Boston Globe, NPR, CBS, and others. I hope this media coverage makes you feel proud of your partnership and collaboration with WPI and demonstrates the great potential for our work together.
I am pleased to share that WPI has been designated an R1 institution, the top tier for U.S. research colleges and universities, in new classifications announced last week by the American Council on Education and the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching.
I’m also excited to ask you to please save the date for a Climate Tech Summit: Research, Discovery, and Innovation, at WPI on Tuesday, April 1. The agenda for this special event is still taking shape, but it will include state and industry stakeholders, as well as WPI faculty and graduate students. An invitation will be forthcoming.
