Department(s):

Dean of Students

Greetings!

The Graduate Commencement (5/14) and Undergraduate Commencement (5/15) ceremonies are fast approaching, and we need many volunteers to help make these important events run smoothly for our graduates. Roles and responsibilities range from helping to line up the graduates to guiding families and loved ones, assisting with wayfinding, and more.

Please consider volunteering on May 14th for our Graduate Commencement from 1pm until 8pm or on Friday, May 15th from 11am until 6pm. Please note that these time frames may not represent your particular role or end time as there are a variety of volunteer opportunities such as greeting, providing directions, supporting behind the scenes as well as lineup for full day or half day shifts.

If you are interested in assisting with either ceremony date (or both!) please complete the interest form below by April 17:

2026 Commencement Volunteer Sign-Up Form

We will offer a brief training in advance of the ceremonies to ensure you are confident in your role(s) and responsibilities and will provide you with a Commencement Volunteer T-shirt if you are in need. Additionally, transportation will be made available to volunteers to assist in navigating to and from the DCU Center with ease if desired. Some roles may involve adjusted hours; however, volunteers are expected to fulfil their shift until the area lead informs you otherwise.

Thank you in advance for your support! If you have questions, please do not hesitate to contact Christine Sharry at crsharry@wpi.edu with any questions or concerns. We look forward to celebrating the Class of 2026 with you!

Sincerely,

The Commencement Planning Committee
