Announcing New Associate Vice President for Advancement, Aamir Suleman

AdvancementI am thrilled to share that Aamir Suleman has joined WPI as our new associate vice president for advancement. He comes to WPI with a wealth of experience developing and driving integrated strategies across philanthropy, research development, workforce initiatives, program management, and global collaborations that position universities for growth, competitiveness, and applied impact.
Suleman is a brilliant and ambitious leader with a disarming humility that builds meaningful relationships that drive revenue. He joins WPI from Wentworth Institute of Technology, where he led the frontline team—inclusive of individual giving, as well as foundation, government, and corporate partnerships—with tremendous success, fostering rigor and a data-driven approach that resulted in the team annually surpassing its goals.
Before joining Wentworth, Suleman served in a variety of leadership roles within institutes of higher education in Africa, most recently serving as the director of knowledge creation and education network at Carnegie Mellon University-Africa, where he brokered a nine-figure partnership with the Mastercard Foundation to establish a Pan-African network dedicated to advancing inclusive digital growth and technology innovation across the continent.
He holds a master’s of commerce, business administration, and management and a PhD in business management from the University of Johannesburg.
