Cybercriminals use phishing—a type of social engineering—to manipulate people into doing what they want. 91% of cyberattacks start with a phishing email.

WPI, along with many other universities in the area, are experiencing increased targeted spear phishing attempts. Protect yourself and the University from phishing attacks by defending your credentials, being aware of attachments, not clicking links on suspicious messages and confirming identities by hovering over the link or sender to see exact details. If you are not sure if an email is legitimate or phishing, please forward the email to phishing@wpi.edu and someone will validate it for you.
