Whether you're working in the sciences, engineering, social sciences, or humanities, there are new avenues for advancing your work with the support of federal, and state grants and cooperative agreements. This newsletter provides a curated list of upcoming federal, state, and internal grant opportunities, and RSI events related to grantsmanship training and funding opportunity discussions helping you stay informed and competitive in securing vital research funding.
Funding Opportunity Spotlight
NextFlex Project Call for forstering technology innovation and commercialization.
The Manufacturing USA® exists to secure U.S. global leadership in advanced manufacturing by connecting people, ideas and technology. WPI is a member of 11 Manufacutring USA institutes that span a range of key technology areas and bring together manufacturing, government, and academia. The NextFlex institute supports industry building, technology development, and Education and Workforce Development (EWD) in Hybrid Electronics. This Project Call from NextFlex is intended to advance the state of the art in manufacturing for hybrid electronics and to promote the strength, competitiveness, and interconnectedness of the U.S. manufacturing ecosystem for hybrid electronics. Proposals should align with the goals of the following topic areas:
- Topic 10.1: Maturing and Derisking Hybrid Electronics Manufacturing Processes and Devices
- Topic 10.2: AI/ML for Design, Manufacturing, and Qualification of Hybrid Electronics
- Topic 10.3: Hybrid Electronics Platform Demonstrator
- Topic 10.4: Additive Manufacturing and Repair of Electronics in the Defense Industrial Base
- Topic 10.5: Platform Demonstrator for Reduced Life Cycle Costs and Improved DoD Readiness
- Topic 10.6: Open Topic for “New Project Leads”

Limited Submissions
Limited Submission opportunities are funding opportunities where the funder limits the number of applications from a single institution. WPI's RSI conducts an internal competition for these opportunities. Faculty who come across such opportunities in their search are encouraged to look at the list of open limited submission competitions on our InfoReady page (see link below). If the limited submission opportunity of interest in not listed in InfoReady, please reach out to rsi@wpi.edu to indicate your interest and to open the limited submission process for the opportunity.

Internal Grant Programs
WPI’s Vice Provost for Research in collaboration with Deans and Department Heads as well as select partner institutions provides support for new and early-stage interdisciplinary research collaborations through a number of grant programs.
