WPI will be at the SXSW EDU 2022 conference in Austin, Texas, from March 7-10, 2022. “Educating Changemakers for Global Impact,” a panel moderated by President Laurie Leshin, will showcase WPI's leadership in project-based learning and how this and other high-impact practices prepare tomorrow's global changemakers. President Leshin will be joined by Gita Bangera of Bellevue College, Gundolf Graml of Agnes Scott College, and Sandra LaFleur of Miami Dade College, institutions that have engaged with WPI’s Center for Project-Based Learning and have integrated project-based learning and other high-impact practices into their own curricula. Catch a glimpse of the conversation here.

Neil Heffernan, professor of computer science, will also be part of a panel about “Revolutionizing Assessment Through Research.”

WPI’s participation at SXSW EDU—an annual event that fosters innovation and learning within the education industry (and a component of the South by Southwest family of conferences and festivals)—puts the university on a national stage alongside fellow thought-leaders and innovators in higher education.

For WPI community members who may be attending the conference or in the area, we invite you to join our faculty and staff for a reception on the evening of Wednesday, March 9 at Café 605 located at the Kimpton Hotel Van Zandt. More information on the event and registration can be found online here
