Men’s Cross Country earned a perfect score for the fourth consecutive year en route to the program’s 45th Worcester City Meet title Saturday at Moore State Park. Jake Scarponi was the individual champion while Michael Brady earned the Brian Savilonis Award as the top senior finisher.  Sydney Packard won the women’s race in convincing fashion as Women’s Cross Country collected its record 12th title, including three of the last four.

Kate Amrein totaled 21 kills as Volleyball swept Southern Maine and Fitchburg State in a Saturday afternoon tri-match inside Harrington Auditorium.  WPI ends the week with a 6-0 record   Bridget Sullivan notched a goal and an assist to highlight a five-goal second half as the WPI field hockey team remained unbeaten with a 5-0 shutout over host Elms on Saturday afternoon.  The Engineers are now 3-0 on the young season.

Jackson Conroy registered a goal and an assist as Men’s Soccer sailed past Mass. Maritime, 5-0, in a non-conference match Saturday afternoon inside Alumni Stadium. The Engineers (4-0) also received goals from senior Spencer Ralphs, Mark Calnan, Brandon Hima and Liam Setterlund. Freshmen Madison Frederick and Meredith Eddy scored their first collegiate goal while classmate Ellie Patten tallied her first point as Women’s Soccer defeated visiting Framingham State, 4-0, Sunday afternoon in Alumni Stadium. Junior Kristen McCrea accounted for the balance of the goals.

Plenty of games on campus on Tuesday with Women’s Soccer taking on Worcester State at 4pm and Men’s Soccer hosting nationally-ranked Brandeis and Volleyball opening NEWMAC play with Babson, both at 7pm.  Field Hockey makes its 2018 home debut Thursday when it entertains Worcester State at 7pm.  Football is local Saturday when it closes out a three game road trip by venturing to Becker for a 3pm tilt while Cross Country heads to UMass Dartmouth the same day!
