Title: Finding input-output equations for linear compartmental models with prescribed orders
Abstract: Linear compartmental models are linear systems of ODEs that are determined by a graphical structure G. A common question that arises when performing parameter estimation is whether the parameters in our model can be recovered uniquely from perfect input-output data (i.e. data from variables we can measure). One way to assess this is by studying the coefficients of input-output equations, which are obtained via differential elimination. In this talk, we discuss a linear algebra-based algorithm that allows us to compute "nice" sets of input-output equations that have prescribed orders for the derivatives that appear in the equations.
