Open Course Materials combine innovation and distinction in pedagogy with saving our students money. This session features three faculty sharing how they are creating, using, and writing about open course materials, including no- or low-cost materials and Open Educational Resources (OER):
- Marja Bakermans (DIGS, BBT) will share ideas on how to promote your OER work in tenure and promotion.
- Keenan Kidwell (Mathematical Sciences) will share the Department’s experience with adopting Herman & Strang’s open Calculus textbook from OpenStax in core undergraduate courses.
- Anita Mattson (CBC) will share the immersive graphic novel she is creating for teaching Organic Chemistry.
Join us this Open Access Week for inspiration or to share your own experiences with using open course materials.
