Expert Bio

Professor Strauss offers a wide array of expertise in health-related aspects of human interaction with the environment. She has studied climate change and sustainability issues focusing on perception and behavior related to understandings of environmental hazards and risks, as well as how we produce, manage, and consume food, energy, and water resources. She is also researching climate change and the built environment with colleagues in civil engineering, business, and political science, and has helped develop an academic degree program on climate change.
