Expert Bio

As a professor of mathematical sciences and widely published researcher, Bogdan Vernescu areas of expertise include composite materials, porous media, smart materials, applied mathematics and mathematical modeling. As Vice President and Vice Provost for Research and Innovation, Vernescu is responsible for the overall operations and non-financial services that support the research enterprise at WPI. Vernescu provides the vision and leadership to enhance faculty research efforts and increase WPI’s externally sponsored funding.
