As Vice Provost of Research, Vernescu is responsible for the overall operations and non-financial services that support the research enterprise at WPI, including the Office of Sponsored Programs, Office of Technology Transfer, and the Life Sciences and Bioengineering Center. Vernescu provides the vision and leadership to enhance faculty research efforts and increase WPI's externally sponsored funding.
