The 7th annual RoboNautica -- sponsored by a generous gift from Raytheon Network Centric Systems -- an official state championship tournament of FIRST LEGO League, will be held from 8:45 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 15, in Harrington Auditorium. WPI is hosting the robotics event, which showcases the talents of hundreds of children ages 9-14. This year, 48 elementary- and middle-school teams from Massachusetts, Maine, and Vermont qualified to compete.

What

The 7th annual RoboNautica, sponsored by a generous gift from Raytheon Network Centric Systems, is an official state championship tournament of FIRST LEGO League. The theme this year is "Power Puzzle." WPI is hosting the event, which showcases the talents of hundreds of children ages 9-14. This year, 48 elementary- and middle-school teams from Massachusetts, Maine, and Vermont qualified to compete. With four competition table-pairs, the action is non-stop from the first match to the exciting elimination finals. Teams will set their autonomous robots in action to accomplish simulated tasks such as installing solar roof panels, placing wind turbines, and harvesting bio-fuel.
