What

Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) will host “Visions of Valencia,” an exhibit featuring images taken by Spanish photographer Andres Minguez Lujan. The display offers an intimate view of the intermingling of the modern and the old in Valencia, Spain’s third largest city. Minguez will give an informal talk during the launch reception of his exhibit. The concept for the showing came during WPI Curator of Special Collections Rodney G. Obien’s 2006 visit to Spain. Obien was impressed by the mixture of the “old’ and “new” in Valencia and asked Minguez, his former colleague, to create a show that would introduce WPI and Worcester to Valencia. Refreshments will be served at the exhibit’s reception.

Who

Andres Minguez Lujan lives and works in his native city of Valencia, Spain. He has been taking photos for more than 20 years, and his work has been displayed in exhibitions and competitions in Spain. When he’s not behind a camera, Minguez works in the banking and finance industry.
