The Epsilon Chapter of Theta Chi, a Greek fraternity at WPI and the longest-active Theta Chi chapter in the organization’s history, was awarded the Chapter Excellence Award by its International Headquarters. This award signifies the WPI chapter has successfully demonstrated expertise and excellence in the areas of internal cooperation and the integration of The Resolute Man, a premier membership program provided by the International Headquarters through which selected applicants have the opportunity to travel, expand their professional network, and grow as leaders.

“We are honored to be recognized for all the hard work we have done,” says current Theta Chi Chapter President Bryan Lima ’22. “I am excited to lead this passionate group as we continue to build on our success this school year.”

In addition to the national recognition, Theta Chi was named Fraternity of the Year for the second consecutive year by WPI’s Chapter Excellence Committee. All fraternities and sororities at WPI participate in the university’s Chapter Excellence program, an annual report that allows chapters to highlight areas of strength, opportunities for growth, and shared successes. Theta Chi’s WPI Chapter was also awarded for Outstanding Alumni Programming, Outstanding Leadership Development, and Outstanding Community Outreach, and was highlighted in the Honor Roll for both Outstanding Academic Support and Outstanding Fiscal Management.

Individual members of Theta Chi also received awards:

Ardavasd Ardhaldjian ’22 was named the Greek Officer of the Year for his accomplishments as the Interfraternity Council (IFC) President and was specifically recognized for helping the IFC and the entire Greek community to reignite comradery during the pandemic.

Current Chapter Advisor William Lucas ’98 received the Alan Okun Memorial Award for Excellence in Chapter Advising. Lucas has been an integral part of the success of the Epsilon Chapter of Theta Chi by establishing a Chapter Advisory Board (CAB) consisting of himself, the chapter’s housing corporation, and an Alumni Outreach advisor.

“Despite all the unfortunate and unforeseen challenges over the past two years, this group of men continues to better themselves in all facets of fraternity life,” says Lucas. “I’m very proud of their success and look forward to assisting this group with their future goals.”
