Brian Selvy is the President and CEO of Zuken Vitech Corporation and an Adjunct Professor at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI), where he teaches SYS 521: Model-Based Systems Engineering. He brings over 20 years of experience in systems engineering across aerospace, optical observatory, and defense domains.

Brian is also the founder of the World Championships of Systems Architecture and Modeling (mbsewc.com), an annual global competition that provides a forum for the best model-based systems engineers to showcase their skills and compete for recognition as the world’s best.

Before assuming his current role, Brian served as Chief Innovation Officer at Zuken Vitech, driving advancements in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) software, solutions and methodologies.  Prior to joining Zuken Vitech, Brian served as Project Manager for the United States Extremely Large Telescope Program (US-ELTP) and held senior systems engineering and management positions at World View Enterprises and the Large Synoptic Survey Telescope (LSST). Earlier in his career, he contributed to SpaceX during its formative years, where he was responsible for specifying, designing, and testing all Falcon 1 ground support systems.

Brian has extensive expertise in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), with hands-on experience using a variety of tools and modeling methodologies. He holds an M.S. in Systems Architecting and Engineering from the University of Southern California and a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. He is certified as an Object Management Group (OMG) Certified Systems Modeling Professional (OCSMP) at the Model Builder-Fundamental level.

An active member of the International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE), Brian is a member of the INCOSE Technical Leadership Institute and is a past president of the INCOSE Southern Arizona Chapter.
