Professor Bob Tranchina brings extensive experience to the WPI Systems Engineering programs. 

Highlights of my professional career include: 

  • 40 years of practical engineering experience spanning electrical, software, and systems engineering. Worked across the full development lifecycle, from concept exploration through disposal.
  • Selected as company chairperson for gate reviews on large international program evaluating risk and technical performance. 
  • Company instructor for Systems Engineering courses and in house INCOSE CSEP exam preparations
  • Performed systems architecture, design and IV&V for remote imaging in the visible and infrared spectra 
  • Elicited new product requirements through applied research and interviews with military and commercial customers. 
  • Developed and utilized DoDAF and UAF architectural formats for RF systems. 
  • Technical lead for several V&V efforts including a government QTE, OTE, efforts, RF Antenna Range and optical test facilities.
  •  Managed technical effort and flight testing for Infra-red assisted landing system for commercial platforms.
