PhD Mechanical Engineering, University of New Hampshire, 2016
BS Mechanical Engineering, Sharif University of Technology, 2010

I joined WPI in Fall 2021, bringing with me a passion for both research and teaching. My research expertise lies in experimental and analytical fluid mechanics, with a strong focus on turbulent transport in non-equilibrium and high Reynolds number boundary layer flows. Within this realm, I specialize in experimental measurements and reduced-order modeling. My contributions to the field are further extended by serving as an invited reviewer for several scientific journals in my areas of expertise.

My teaching philosophy is centered on making STEM education more accessible, less stressful, and intellectually stimulating for students from diverse backgrounds. Throughout my career in STEM education, I have developed practices that strike a harmonious balance between imparting necessary information, cultivating problem-solving skills, and embracing new technologies such as artificial intelligence in education. I firmly believe that this equilibrium is essential for fostering a thriving engineering education that empowers students to excel.

In my spare time, I enjoy creating educational tools that help students improve comprehension, master technical topics, reduce stress, and stay organized. Two examples are:

StudyGuideAI: an AI-powered platform designed specifically for students; a place to organize work, strengthen understanding, and reduce anxiety related to overwhelming course documents. While many tools exist with features students can use, they’re usually built for broad audiences. This project is different: it was designed with students at the center, shaped by their feedback, and meant to evolve with their needs.

GPThermo: an AI-powered educational assistant created to help students master thermodynamics. The model outperforms ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Copilot in a May 2025 benchmark of standard thermodynamics problems, offering instant, accurate, and course-tailored tutoring support.
