Raphael Ogabi is a post-doctoral research fellow working with Prof. Albert Simeoni in the Department of Fire Protection Engineering at Worcester Polytechnic Institute. Dr. Raphael obtained his Master's degree in Polymer and Textile Science at the Ahmadu Bello University, Nigeria and Ph.D in Energetic at INSA Centre Val de Loire in France. During his Ph.D research, he studied the fire behavior of both synthetic and bio-sourced composite materials impacted by different levels of heat fluxes on a medium and large scale. 

His current research focuses on quantifying the reliability of fire pattern indicators obtained during fire investigations. The project is funded by the National Institute of Justice (NIJ), USA.
