WPI Quad

100 Institute Road, Worcester MA, 01609

The Quad is a large open green space where students gather in warm weather months to play Frisbee and volleyball, or just relax on soft grass. It is also the site of major campus events, including Commencement, Alumni Weekend, Homecoming, and the annual Quadfest, a week-long celebration in D-Term organized by WPI's Social Committee that features creative games and giveaways.

In 1991, a network of brick pathways known as the Centennial Walkway was installed throughout the Quad to observe the 100th anniversary of the Alumni Association. In the summer of 2013, the Quad underwent an extensive renovation that resulted in a new drainage system, additional lighting, paved paths, and a revamped entrance for the Wedge joining Morgan Hall and Daniels Hall.
