University Archives
WPI's University Archives repository includes early school records, academic and administrative department records, student organization records, select staff, faculty, and alumni bio files, the papers of past WPI presidents and trustees, and more. In addition to administrative and scholarly records, the Archives also collects, preserves, and makes available campus publications, such as yearbooks, student newspapers, the WPI Journal, operational catalogs, directories, and registers, as well as WPI memorabilia and more than 50,000 images and recordings of WPI campus life.
Perhaps most notably, our collection of WPI historical documents includes the original 1865 land grant for Worcester County Free Institute of Industrial Science and committee records for the development and implementation of the WPI Plan--a ground-breaking program that transformed WPI’s traditional engineering curriculum into a powerful and innovative approach to technological education.
