The WPI Data Science Program was very proud to send Program Director Elke Rundensteiner to the 2015 Life Sciences Informatics Conference: The Massachusetts Opportunity for Global Leadership at Microsoft NERD, Cambridge, MA. Elke was invited to be a guest panelist and gave a presentation on 'Building Your Data Science Department,' a topic with which she is well familiar. The outline of the talk was 'More and more life sciences companies are hiring data scientists or data science consultants to further business goals. But sourcing and training talent, organizing data science teams or departments, and integrating with existing organizations can be challenging.'
MassBio and MassTLC collaborated in bringing this excellent conference to the Boston area.
