The Biomedical Engineering Department announces Project Presentation Day Winners

The BME Department congratulates all the students who participated in our Zoom Project Presentation Day event on April 30. Despite the highly unusual circumstances this year, our faculty and external judges were very impressed. 

The overall winner of the Provost’s MQP Award in Biomedical Engineering is:

The Research and Development of an Equine Endotracheal Y-Piece Positive End-Expiratory Pressure (EETYPEEP) Valve 
Elizabeth Butler, advised by Prof. Raymond Page

Designing Non-Pneumatic Anti-Shock Trousers 
Catherine Blejwas, Megan Heinle, Anne Hughes and Colleen O’Malley, advised by Jeannine Coburn.

Design of a Bio-Realistic Surgical Phantom for Colorectal Surgical Training 
Shanna Bonanno, Mark Bray, Parima Sharma, Isabelle Sillo and Amy Tran, advised by George Pins and Dr. Thomas Cataldo (Beth Israel Deaconess).

The faculty expresses their sincere thanks to the BME Department's students as well as the many individuals who helped to make this unique event the success that it was. ?We are particularly grateful to the BME Department staff, Lynda Hammett, Ina Gjencaj, Sue Smith, Lisa Wall, Rob Kirch, Prof. Ray Page, and Prof. Sakthikumar Ambady for the countless hours of work preparing for the day.
