For a Change Author Series, April 9, 2-3pm: Building Equitable Climate Adaptation
Gordon Library is partnering with the Global School to host a roundtable discussion of a new book, Building Equitable Climate Adaptation Partnerships in the US Caribbean (Springer, 2026), co-edited by Assistant Professor Sarah Molinari (DIGS) and Global School Dean Mimi Sheller.
The book was released on March 19, and includes contributions from several other WPI faculty, students and partners, among them Scott Jiusto, Seth Tuler, Sarah Strauss, John-Michael Davis, Bárbara López-González, and Sol Giesso '23, MS '24 who are part of the Caribbean Collaborative Action Network, a NOAA climate adaptation partnership team.
The publisher writes, about this book, "With a focus on Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands, this book seeks to offer insights on how academic researchers can engage in ethical collaborations that will support climate vulnerable communities exercise self-determination, equitable climate adaptation, and place-keeping – rather than displacement.."
All are invited to join this conversation in our "For a Change" author series ("Books that Challenge our Beliefs and our Choices") on Thursday, April 9, at 2pm in the Gordon Library Conference Room (Room 303).
