Dear WPI Community,

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for most of the Worcester region, with forecasts calling for significant snowfall beginning Tuesday afternoon and continuing throughout the day and evening. Accordingly, WPI is cancelling all classes, events, and activities as of 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 12, 2019.  All non-essential personnel are asked to leave campus by 3:00 p.m. Tuesday in order to get home and stay off the roads.

The campus will remain open. Throughout the duration of the storm, essential personnel will be on campus to ensure the safety and well-being of our community and our facilities; employees should check with their supervisors to determine their status.

Parking Modifications:

In order to assist our snow team with the formidable job of campus upkeep during the storm, any employee remaining on campus after 3:00 pm are asked to move their car to the Park Avenue or Gateway Garage; all other lots will be closed. Students with parking permits have been asked to move their cars to the Gateway Garage.

The City of Worcester parking ban is in effect as of 10 a.m. today. Information is available at http://www.worcesterma.gov/streets/winter-weather/winter-parking; you can also sign up for the city’s parking alerts via this site.

WPI’s grounds team works continuously to clear and maintain walkways and surface areas. However, we encourage everyone in the WPI community to use caution during the storm.

Should you find yourself in an on-campus emergency situation, please call WPI Campus Police at 508-831-5555.

Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.
