WPI offers a dedicated Strategic Sourcing function within Procurement to make purchasing simpler, faster and smarter for faculty, researchers, and staff. Strategic Sourcing will partner with you to:
- Clarify and refine purchasing needs
- Identify the right suppliers for the job
- Plan for total cost of ownership and impact on operational budgets
- Evaluate quotes and negotiate terms with suppliers
Support Levels Based on Purchase Size
- $10,000–$250,000: Use the Quote Kit, a simple, self-service tool to gather, compare, and select supplier quotes.
- Over $250,000: Strategic Sourcing will lead the formal bid process including supplier engagement, evaluation, negotiation, and contract planning.
