In preparation for renovation of the Library's main floor this summer and fall, from June 1 to June 14, the entire Library building will be closed to the public to allow construction crews to build a temporary pedestrian tunnel to provide safe access to the Library. Once the tunnel is completed on June 15 the Library's Ground, First (Lower) and Third (Upper) floors will be accessible to the public via the construction tunnel.
Services currently located on the main entrance floor will be moved to alternate locations beginning Monday, May 18:
- LIBRARY SERVICES:
- May 26-29: Most library staff and services, including circulation and interlibrary loan, will move to the First (Lower) floor during the week of May 26. During their move, some services and collections may be temporarily unavailable. To help ensure a seamless experience, we encourage you to place requests for needed items through WPI Library Search or contact us directly at library@wpi.edu during this time.
- May 26-June 12: During the moving week and the temporary building closure, the Gordon Conference Room will not be available for reservations.
- June 1-12: During the temporary building closure, Library staff will be working both in the building and remotely and may arrange to meet you in person elsewhere on campus if needed. Please contact us at library@wpi.edu.
- June 15: Library Access Services & Outreach, and Research and Information Services will both reopen in the Library on the First (Lower) floor. For details, please contact library@wpi.edu or reslib@wpi.edu.
- Tech Suites: Access to Library Tech Suites will be very limited throughout construction. Alternative locations for Tech Suites include the Innovation Studio and Unity Hall.
- IT SERVICES:
- May 18: IT's Technology for Teaching and Learning (TTL) team will move permanently to Room 302, next to the Gordon Conference Room. You can contact them at atc-ttl@wpi.edu.
- June 1-12:
- Technology for Teaching and Learning (TTL) will provide virtual support via email to atc-ttl@wpi.edu.
- The IT Service Desk will have in-person support in the ATC Main Office - FL 117, and virtual support via email (ITS@wpi.edu), and phone (508-831-5888).
- June 15: TTL will reopen in the Library in Room 302 on the Third (Upper) floor; the IT Service Desk will reopen in the Library on the First (Lower) floor. For details, please contact them at its@wpi.edu.
