New Webpage for WPI Startups Launches on wpi.edu
A new webpage showcasing startups that have been launched by student and faculty entrepreneurs has been published on wpi.edu, the university’s website.
The webpage was created by the Division of Marketing Communications in collaboration with the Office of Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship (OTIE) and the i3 Lab to reflect WPI’s growing community of inventors and innovators who are founding companies in fields such as manufacturing, robotics, healthcare, and more.
WPI startups have raised more than $1.6 billion in capital and created jobs for more than 500 employees. WPI also is one of the nation’s top 100 academic institutions involved in securing intellectual property through patents, according to the National Academy of Inventors.
The new page, developed in part to highlight the entrepreneurial ecosystem at WPI and facilitate potential collaborations and partnerships, includes a listing of more than 30 startups and draws from information available on StartupTree, an online platform used by OTIE and the i3 Lab to connect WPI inventors with alumni, mentors, and potential industry partners. The new page, which will automatically update regularly to reflect advances from startups, also links to additional information on individual startups.
