NSO & Upperclass Move In Traffic Pattern & Parking

WPI is excited to officially welcome the Class of 2026 and our incoming transfer students beginning at 9:00am on Saturday, August 20, 2022 and the upper-class residential students beginning at 9am on Sunday, August 21, 2022 and continuing until 7pm on Tuesday, August 23, 2022 to the WPI campus. More than 2,500 students are expected on campus over the course of the coming days to move in, participate in New Student Orientation for Class of 2026 and Welcome Week activities.
In order to ensure a safe experience for the entire WPI community, traffic patterns on WPI’s campus, and surrounding city streets will be altered, beginning at 7am every move in day. Students will be moving in between 9am-3pm on Saturday, August 20 and between 9am – 7pm on Sunday, August 21 – Tuesday, August 23. Traffic patterns will return to normal after 7pm.
- There will be no street parking available on Institute Road.
- There will also be no street parking on Einhorn or Hackfeld Roads near the Stoddard Complex.
To aid the faculty and staff, as well as the families on campus between August 20-23, there will be one shuttle operating on Saturday, 8/20 and two shuttles on Sunday, 8/21 for the following times and routes:
Saturday, 8/20: 9am-4pm: Route Gateway to Bartlett Center (only) 1 shuttle
4pm-8pm: Route Bartlett Center to South Village Student Center (only) 1 shuttle
Sunday, 8/21: 9am-8pm: Regular Gateway shuttle – 1 shuttle
9am-8pm: Regular South Village shuttle services – 1 shuttle
