Prof. Shijie Zhou, professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering, has been elected a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC), a prestigious professional distinction recognizing excellence in cardiovascular science and medicine.

The American College of Cardiology will formally recognize Zhou during its 2026 Annual Scientific Session, to be held March 28–30 in New Orleans, Louisiana. He will be honored at the organization’s Convocation ceremony on March 30, where newly elected Fellows take the official oath of Fellowship.

Election to Fellowship in the American College of Cardiology is reserved for individuals who have demonstrated outstanding professional credentials, sustained high-level achievement, and significant contributions to the field of cardiovascular medicine. The FACC designation signifies a commitment to the highest standards of research, clinical practice, and professional leadership.
