Dear WPI Community,

 

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for most of the Worcester region, with forecasts calling for high winds and significant snowfall beginning overnight and continuing throughout the day tomorrow.  Accordingly, WPI is cancelling all day and evening classes, events, and activities for Tuesday, March 13, 2018. We ask that all non-essential personnel stay home and off the roads.

Throughout the duration of the storm, essential personnel will be on campus to ensure the safety and well-being of our community and our facilities; employees should check with their supervisors to determine their status.

Here are revised building and dining hours for Tuesday, March 13, 2018:

Building Hours:

Rubin Campus Center:  7:00 a.m. – Midnight

Sports and Recreation Center:  6:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.

Gordon Library:  10:00 am – 1:00 a.m.

Note: All other campus buildings will be closed and accessible only to those with after-hours access.

 

Modified Dining:

Morgan Dining:  Brunch 9:00 a.m. – 1:15 p.m.; Dinner 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.  

Dunkin Donuts:  9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Campus Center Food Court: 11:30 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Note: All other dining facilities will be closed.

Parking Modifications:

Essential employees with valid permits should use the Park Avenue or Gateway garages.  All other employee/commuter parking lots and all residential student lots will remain closed Tuesday and will reopen Wednesday morning, March 14. 

The Dean Street garage will continue its normal operations for validated parkers, but the top level will be remain closed to allow for snow removal.

The City of Worcester has declared a parking ban on city streets. You can sign up for the city’s parking alerts at http://www.worcesterma.gov/streets/winter-weather/winter-parking.

WPI’s grounds team works continuously to clear and maintain walkways and surface areas. However, we encourage everyone in the WPI community to use caution during the storm. Please be aware of predicted high winds and other effects of inclement weather.
