More Information

The dedication is in honor of Stephen Rubin, Class of 1974, who has served WPI in a number of capacities over the years. He was a member of the WPI Board of Trustees from 1996 to 2013; as chairman of the board from 2010 to 2013, he led WPI through a period of significant expansion and recognition.

Rubin, who earned a BS in computer science, was one of the first graduates of the WPI Plan, the Instiute's innovative, project-based approach to education. In 1989 he received WPI's Ichabod Washburn Award, which recognizes outstanding professional achievement by a young alumnus. Rubin has been involved in several start-ups and is the founder and past CEO of Intellution, an industrial software company. He is currently president and CEO of Recognisis, which helps institutions track and manage donors’ efforts and recognition items.

Rubin and his wife, Tracy, also are among WPI's most generous benefactors, having supported student scholarships, global projects, faculty research, facilities, and many other areas of the university.

The ceremony begins at 3 p.m. and guests will hear remarks from interim WPI President Philip Ryan '65, Board Chairman Warner Fletcher, and Rubin before a new plaque is revealed.
