Professor Bianchi works in the area of music technology. As the director of music technology research, Bianchi works with students from all disciplines. His particular focus is Virtual Orchestra technology and multichannel sound design. He also oversees the Media Arts Group Innovation Center (MAGIC).

Bianchi is a composer and pioneer of music technology who developed the Virtual Orchestra, a complex computer system network that can simulate the sounds and behaviors of an orchestra, with the ability to interpret and follow a conductor in real time. • How AI is expanding access to music, allowing a broader group of people to compose and experiment with their own music.
  • The similarities between the abilities and applications of his virtual orchestra technology and AI technology in music.
  • How the computing power of AI could help analyze vast amounts of data to unlock a deeper understanding of music.
