Experts on materials science

Materials science is the study of the structure and properties of solid materials of all kinds, as well as the discovery and development of new materials for a wide range of applications. WPI experts in materials science reflect the broad, interdisciplinary nature of the field. The subjects of their research span such disciplines as metallurgy and the properties of metal alloys, biomaterials and nanomaterials for disease detection and treatment, and materials recycling. Many of WPI's materials scientists are experts on materials science and also work in the field of materials engineering.
