Dr. Brittany Frederick (she/her) serves as the Director of the Office of Diversity, Inclusion, and Multicultural Education (ODIME). She provides strategic leadership for the programs, services, and initiatives that foster an inclusive and equitable campus environment. Dr. Frederick also works collaboratively with campus partners to identify best practices and implement data-informed strategies that strengthen student retention and promote a greater sense of belonging within the WPI community.

Dr. Frederick holds a rich background as an academic administrator, public historian, and scholar of twentieth-century African American history. Her research examines the history of Black Studies, Black women's liberatory practices within higher education, and the role of Civil Rights and Black Power ideologies in shaping campus activism and institutional transformation. As a scholar-practitioner, Brittany explores the historical and contemporary systems that shape educational equity and impact the experiences of underrepresented students, faculty, and staff.

Before joining WPI, Dr. Frederick served as Associate Director for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in the Fox Graduate School at Pennsylvania State University. Brittany holds a Ph.D. in History from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Prior to her doctoral study, Brittany earned a B.A. in History and an M.A. from the Public History program at the University at Albany (SUNY).
