SSgt Tipton entered the USAF after graduating from Basic Military Training in 2014 at Lackland AFB, TX.
From June 2015 – June 2017, SSgt Tipton was assigned to the 67th Fighter Squadron, as an F-15 Crew Chief. He was responsible for the inspections, launch and recovery procedures and the maintenance of 25 F-15C/D aircraft.
In July 2017 – July 2019 SSgt Tipton was assigned to the 492nd fighter Squadron where he was responsible for the inspections, launch and recovery procedures and the maintenance of 50 F-15E aircraft, Along with Tasked in supporting the nuclear surety mission.
In July 2019 – July 2020, SSgt Tipton was assigned to the 173rd Maintenance group where he integrated with the Oregon Air National Guard to provide support to their isochronal inspections shop and assist with the aircraft crash and recovery team.
In July 2020 – Jan 2024 SSgt Tipton was given the opportunity to retrain and became a Flight engineer. He was moved to the 964th Airborn Air and Control Squadron where he performed flight crew duties as well as NCOIC of the squadron occupational and flight safety office.
Currently, SSgt Tipton is the Enlisted ROTC training instructor, for the 340 Detachment Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps. In this capacity, Sergeant Tipton manages personnel records, leave web, duty status, and MILPDS actions for five Active-duty cadre. He updates cadet pay, initiates security clearances, manages the unit leave program, duty status program, and schedules the Test of Basic Aviation Skills (TBAS) and Air Force Officer Qualifying Tests (AFOQT). This organization includes 5 cadre members and over 60 cadets.
