SFC Schipper was born and raised in Ackley, Iowa. He began his military career in June 2009, enlisted as a 11B Infantry, and attended Basic Training OSUT at Fort Benning, Georgia. His assignments include: Delta Company, 1-508th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division Fort Bragg, North Carolina from 2009-2013; Bravo Company 2-503rd, 173rd Mobile Brigade Combat Team, Del Din, Italy from 2013-2015; Bravo Company, 1-507th PIR, Airborne Ranger Training Brigade, Fort Benning, Georgia from 2017-2021; Bravo Company, 2-502nd, 101st Airborne Division, Fort Campbell, Kentucky from 2021-2023; Charlie Company, 2-19 Infantry Battalion, 198th Infantry Brigade Fort Benning, Georgia from 2023-2026.

SFC Schipper deployments include: two combat tours to Afghanistan from December 2009-August 2010, and March 2012-September 2012 supporting Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF). One rotation to Poland from July 2022-March 2023 in support of Operation Rapid Response.

SFC Schipper is currently a Military Science Instructor at the Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Worcester, Massachusetts, and has held numerous positions throughout his career. He has held all leadership positions, including Team Leader, Squad Leader, Platoon Sergeant, Drill Sergeant, and Instructor.

SFC Schipper awards and decorations include Valorous Unit Award, Army Superior Unit Award, Army Commendation Medal(6), Army Achievement Medal (7), Army Good Conduct Medal (5), National Defense Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal (1 star), Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Arme Forces Service Medal, Army Service Ribon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Nato Medal (2). He has also received the Master Combat Badge, Combat Infantry Badge, Expert Infantry Badge, Master Parachutist Badge, Senior Parachutist Badge, Parachutist Badge, Air Assault Badge, Pathfinder Badge, Drivers Badge, and the Drill Sergeant Badge.

SFC Schipper’s military education includes: includes Basic Leaders Course (BLC), Advanced Leader Course (ALC), Senior Leader Course (SLC), Unit Prevention Leader Course (UPL), Combat Lifesaver Course (CLS), Drill Sergeant School, Pathfinder Course, Sexual Harassment/ Assault Response and Prevention (SHARP) Foundation, Department of the Army Retention Training (DART), Air Assault Course, Jumpmaster Course, Common Factuality Development- Instructor Course, Survival/ Evasion/ Resistance/ Escape High Risk Course( SERE-C), Special Forces Qualification and Individual Training, Special Forces Qualification Orientation, Hazardous Material Driver Training/ Instructor Course,
