Lee Fischer

Department Head, Air Force and Aerospace Studies Professor of Aerospace Studies

Lt Col Lee Fischer is the commander of Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps Detachment 340 located at Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Worcester, Massachusetts. He is responsible for educating, training, and commissioning the next generation of Air Force and Space Force officers. 

Lt Col Fischer enlisted in the Air Force in September 2005. He completed Instrument and Flight Control Technician training in May 2006, and served at the 353rd Maintenance Squadron at Kadena Air Base, Japan until August 2009. Following a two-year break in service, Lt Col Fischer earned his commission through ROTC at the University of Connecticut in October 2011. He completed a two-year Special Tactics Officer pipeline in March 2014. Since then, Lt Col Fischer has held a variety of leadership and staff positions at the Squadron, Group, and Wing levels. Prior to his current assignment, Lt Col Fischer commanded the 321st Special Tactics Squadron at RAF Mildenhall, United Kingdom.
