Ignite: A STEM Summer Program for Middle School Students
Ignite at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) Is a hands-on STEM Summer Program for rising 6th, 7th, and 8th graders designed to spark curiosity, build scientific skills, and introduce young learners to exciting careers in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM).
What Is Ignite?
Ignite is a one-week, commuter, non-credit summer program that lets students explore STEM topics in a fun, collaborative, and project-based setting on the WPI campus. Participants learn directly from WPI faculty & instructors through interactive lessons, hands-on activities, and real lab experiences

Program At a Glance:
Audience: Rising 6, 7, and 8th graders.
Program Dates:
- Ignite Week 1 runs from Tuesday, July 6 - Friday, July 9, 2027
- Ignite Week 2 runs from Monday, July 12 - Friday, July 16, 2027
- Ignite Week 3 runs from Monday, July 19 - Friday, July 23, 2027
- Ignite Week 4 runs from Monday, July 26 - Friday, July 30, 2027
Instruction Time: 9:00am - 4:00pm
Cost: $695 per week
Summer 2027 registrations will open in early January.
