WPI's chorus and orchestra will present their annual holiday concert on Thursday, Dec. 1, 2011, at 7:30 p.m. in Alden Memorial. The concert is free and open to the public.
The WPI Orchestra, directed by Douglas Weeks, administrator of applied music, will open the program with a suite of music from Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker Ballet. The show will also feature a reading, with musical accompaniment, of A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens, combining the talents of John Delorey, director of choral music, and Joel Brattin, professor of literature and a noted Dickens scholar. Traditional holiday selections will also be performed, and the event will include an audience sing-along.
