Professor Sarah Molinari, a cultural anthropologist and public scholar who works at the intersection of ethnography, critical environmental studies, feminist geography, and digital humanities and Post Doc Bárbara López-González, human geographer whose work engages with the political ecology of disasters, community autogestión (self-management), and the pursuit of transformations and just and sustainable futures have been awarded The Lambros Comitas Award for Significant Applications of Anthropology. The award honors the legacy of Lambros Comitas, a long-time teacher, mentor, and founder of the applied anthropology program at Teachers College, Columbia University and supports projects aimed at addressing persistent community issues and promoting fair solutions.
