Mimi Sheller, Professor of Integrative and Global Studies, has co-authored a new book "Navigating Detours in the Mobility Transition"

In a project initiated by the Forum Vies Mobiles, a French think tank specializing in mobility, Déviation – Pour un tournant radical des mobilités face aux limites planétaires will first be published in French by EPFL Press. The English version: Navigating Detours in the Mobility Transition, will be published on November 24.

Déviation brings together contributions from 65 international researchers in the social sciences and humanities to envision an ecological and desirable future for mobility. The book shows why we need to move beyond the car-based system, whether electric or not, and explores possible transformations of our mobility systems, territories and ways of life.

The book is being launched on October 5th at the free event “Grille, baby, grille!”, organized by Forum Vies Mobiles along with the French news organization Le Monde. There will be a live broadcast  (in French). Please register here
