The men’s crew team began a winning weekend on Saturday, April 4, when the No. 1 varsity eight captured the Class of 2003 Cup on Lake Quinsigamond. WPI came from behind to defeat Wesleyan by less than a second. It was the first time WPI’s men’s team has won this regatta since becoming a varsity sport in 1999.

The second varsity eight was also victorious in the Class of 2003 Cup race and won a match against Bates and the University of Rhode Island on Sunday morning. Also this past weekend, the women’s novice eight won its Class of 2003 Cup race on Saturday and placed second on Sunday in a race against Mount Holyoke and Wellesley on Lake Quinsigamond.
