Expert Bio

Lee Moradi is an expert on autonomous vehicles. He is a professor in the Department of Mechanical & Materials Engineering, co-director of the WPI’s Autonomous Vehicle Mobility Institute and co-lead of the WPI Autonomous Systems Lab, which was established in 2023 with $2 million in funding from the Massachusetts Technology Collaborative. Moradi’s work focuses on off-road autonomous vehicles that can improve disaster response, handle difficult terrain, and help in transportation, healthcare, and manufacturing settings. Professor Moradi previously directed a center that supported research and development for NASA payloads aboard the International Space Station.
