One of the largest and longest-running events in FIRST Robotics returns to Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) this weekend. On May 19-20, 60 teams from across the Northeast will participate in BattleCry@WPI, touted as “the best off-season event in FIRST.”

Now in its 19th year, BattleCry@WPI is a robotics competition for high school teams wishing to have one more time to put their robots to the test. Teams will compete in matches, enjoy social events, and vie for a number of awards with some of the most elite robots in the game. BattleCry@WPI gives teams a chance to recruit new members or let existing ones try out new roles without the pressure of an official competition.

The event is free and open to the public.
