Research Opportunity Dev Lead
Michael Wright joined WPI as Research Opportunity Development Lead in August 2017. As a research development professional, he guides the development of new multi-investigator research initiatives, centers and competitive proposals, builds external partnerships with sponsors and collaborators, and develops opportunities for translational activities. Mike enjoys working directly with faculty to help them find funding for their best ideas. He came to WPI after 14 years at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where he worked in industry-academic collaboration, campus-wide research development, and NSF center management roles. His background also includes professional staff roles at the Society of Manufacturing Engineers and in local economic development agencies in Michigan and Massachusetts. He holds a BS in Urban and Environmental Studies and an MBA, both from Grand Valley State University.
Director of Mfg Innovation
Ellen Grant Piccioli is directing the engagement and expansion of WPIs Manufacturing USA multi-disciplinary, multi-institutional and multi-center collaborative programs, and the development of new initiatives in the area of manufacturing innovation. Prior to WPI, Ellen consulted in the MIT Leaders for Global Operations (LGO) Program, and previously held leadership positions at Intel Corporation, Hewlett-Packard, Compaq, and Digital Equipment Corporation. Ellen is a member of Cornell University’s ECE (Electrical and Computer Engineering) Advisory Council, the Boston Museum of Science’s (MOS) Women in Science and Engineering (WISE) Committee (Co-chair), and the Board of Overseers at the MOS and the SpeakEasy Stage Company. Ellen received a B.S. with Distinction in ECE from Cornell University, and an M.S. in EE from the University of Michigan.
Learning Sciences and Technologies
Colleen McShea joined the Research Solutions Institute as a Grants Specialist in March 2017. In her role, she works closely with Learning Sciences and Technologies faculty and provides administrative and technical support to those seeking outside funding for research and other sponsored projects. Prior to coming to WPI, Colleen worked as an Operations Manager at Summit Educational Group. Colleen holds a BA in English and Communications from Fordham University.

Healthcare Delivery Institute
Sue Milkman has over 25 years’ experience in administrative support at WPI. She supports the Healthcare Delivery Institute and is currently the Faculty Staff Advisor for Alpha Gamma Delta Zeta Zeta Chapter. Outside of WPI, she has been involved with the Hardwick Youth Center for the past 10 years.
