Founder Hall

For All Residential Students

Preferred Name
Students have the option to provide a preferred name to the Housing & Residential Experience Center when filling out a housing application. Preferred names will only be used by the Housing & Residential Experience Center with the intent of making the residence halls as welcoming as possible.

Gender-Inclusive Housing
This housing option is where two or more students mutually agree to share a multiple-occupancy bedroom, suite, or apartment without regard to the gender of the occupants.

Accommodated Housing

  • Students seeking housing accommodations for an accessibility-related need may request accommodations through the Office of Accessibility Services (OAS) on or before February 14.  For more information on filling out the Housing Accommodation Request Form and submitting documentation, please watch this video.  Housing accommodations must be requested each year in addition to filling out the housing application.  The Housing Accommodation Form can be found here.
  • The priority is to provide an accommodated housing assignment that meets the student’s needs based on medical documentation in a location that is appropriate for the student’s class year designation.

Special Circumstances
If you believe you qualify for a Housing & Dining Contract release or an Exemption from the First Year On Campus Housing Requirement please email the Housing & Residential Experience Center: housing@wpi.edu for more information about if you qualify and next steps.
