WPI Expert Database Makes Impact In Its First Year

October 2022 marks one year since Marketing Communications launched the Expert Database, an online tool designed to help members of the media, prospective students, and the university community and the general public tap into the remarkable expertise here at WPI. The expert database gathers the university’s faculty and staff into one central, easily accessible location, to enable people interested in topics spanning a wide range of fields to find WPI experts to offer their perspective, opinions, analysis, and commentary on trending topics and areas of research. 

Since its launch, the Expert Database has gained exposure and reach, evolving to show its power by the engagement its generated from members of the media and others. Inquiries and media coverage have come from a wide range of sources, including CNN, KCBS Radio, WBZ-TV, the Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication (SWIFT), the Mayo Clinic, the Turkish Radio and Television Corporation, and TheStreet. Anyone on the website can search for an area of expertise by specific keyword, learn more about the experts and their specialties, and inquire to speak with our experts.
